Passerelli on the Wild

Just yesterday, Emil Passerelli was signed to a one-year, $1,500,000 deal with the Saskatoon Wild. When asked about signing with the team, the young right winger had this to say:

 

“I have to say, I’m excited to be here. I was surprised that when I declared my eligibility for the VHLM, no team bothered to give me a call. I know I missed the draft, but come on now! Saskatoon’s management was the only one to offer me the chance to make the step up, and I’m sure as hell not going to waste the opportunity. They’ve put a lot of trust in me by sticking their necks out when no one else would, and I intend to make sure their gamble pays off.”

Following a question about the Wild’s less-than-stellar record last season, Passerelli smiled.

“Last season wasn’t the best for Saskatoon, I’ll freely admit that. I wasn’t there to witness it first-hand, but what I do know is that I’m going to do my damnedest to make sure we improve upon our record this time around. I owe it to the team. We've got a group of hungry guys with a lot of potential, and I’m itching to get this season underway.”
