AW13 198
Revving Up for Season 65 Could this be the breakout season that the VHL has been wondering if and when it was going to all come together for the center, Oleksiy Revchenko as part of the Calgary Wranglers? With a new mindset and a new practice routine, Revchenko says he is feeling better than ever with his spot in the VHL both in terms of his personal goals and the team goals. The forward, now going into his 3rd full season as a VHL player avoided any kind of Sophomore slump on route to what was a decent season for the Ukrainian now on the cusp of his prime. After a rookie season that saw him total 39 points in 72 games, he followed that up in Season 64 with 59 points in the same amount of games. One must assume that he is on pace now for a 79 point season but he says he wants more. "I want to be a top scorer in this league, I think I have definitely worked at it and I can be the player that people thought I would be when I first entered the league. I want to be a league leader in points and I want to lead the league in assists, and I think I can do that with great teammates around me." Time will tell if the Ukrainian former 2nd round pick will become a top player in the VHL but Calgary has a determined and still young center fighting for the Wranglers and that should lead to the team growing as well. While many experts predict another playoff miss from the Wranglers, the team is on the upswing and can lean on Revchenko as a star of the team within these next few seasons.
