Name: Samuel Sparrow

Age: 18

Hometown: Nashville, Tennessee

Height: 5’ 10”

Weight: 150 lbs.

Position: Defenseman

Shoots: Left

Strengths:

Vertical play: Sparrow has a knack for always finding ways to push the play up the ice. He also is always willing to jump into the play and can get back on defense with incredible speed.

No net-front presence: Sparrow also exhibits great control in front of his net always keeping the shooting lanes open for his goalie to see. He always seems to know where a scoring play might develop and put himself in the way. He also shows no fear when blocking shots and has excellent sense when blocking passing lanes.

Physicality: though he isn't the largest d-man out there he will not hesitate to put himself in a scrum in the corner and won’t be fazed when a big power forward comes his way. Though he is not a big hitter he is not afraid to take the wrong side of a check to insure his team comes out with the puck. This can make him somewhat injury prone on the other hand.

Weaknesses:

Scoring: Sparrow has never had a nose for the net and has never put up huge numbers even for a defenseman. He has however always possessed the ability to put the puck on the stick of those who can.

Consistency: Sparrow’s performance is often tied to the team’s. His play on both sides of the puck can greatly impact the team as a whole. He has always been something of a rebound player coming off a bad game with a great next game.

Hitting: Though many consider him to be an incredibly physical player he has often been too focused on the stick side of playing  d, trying to make clean poke checks when a shoulder can be just as effective.

Sparrow has always been a defensive stud with great sense and the ability to put the puck in the right place at the right time. His small frame has held him back, however he has mostly overcome that to become a feared two-way defenseman that can do what is needed anywhere on the ice. He is sometimes limited by his lack of scoring prowess but his vertical play making abilities more than make up for it with his ability to feather passes through traffic to advance the play. Sparrow’s career has advanced quite quickly so his lack of experience call his leadership abilities into question. Many think he will become a lead by example type of leader, he has already stated himself that he is not one to stand up in the locker room and give a speech. He has always been a very hardworking player with very little of his career earned by pure talent he has always had to fight incredibly hard for his position.

Review: I actually really appreciate the fact that instead of using the common attributes everyone else, you use the strengths in terms of playing schemes and also non-common nomenclature. I think there is an error you might want to edit: In the second point you say

No net-front presence

But I think you just want Net-Front Presence or even a different overarching term if that's what you were going for.
