TheFlash 317
A new era is upon us in Philadelphia, as the Reapers get set to take the ice for their first game in franchise history. The Reapers, one of two expansion teams in the VHLM this year, aren't paying any attention to the low expectations set out for them by media and VHLM fans alike. As with many expansion teams, the Reapers have had to scrape the bottom of the barrel as far as free agents go, and many expect that to reflect in their performance this season. Players like Quinn, Piongyu and Emery have seemingly fallen off the face of the earth, and left their team wanting more. But the focus within this teams dressing room, is the players who manage to make it to the rink each day. With only a 4 man defensive core, Charlie Paddywagon will certainly be double shifting and logging plenty of ice time. The strong, defensive minded d-man will have to step into the role of a veteran, despite being a rookie, and lead the defence and carry the load. Their top six is the most attractive part of this team, with enough fire power to hang with most teams. Jet Jaguar, the super speeding centreman, is right between Miko Aaltonen and Tyler Barabash Jr, two players who are sure to light the lamp many times. The second line is anchored by 2nd year player Brian Strong, the only VHL draftee on the club. He'll be lining up with Hans Gruber and Frostbeard as his center and right winger respectively. So, strap in Philly fans. You could be in for a long one. Or maybe, just maybe, there could be a miracle brewing in the city of brotherly love.
