Jarkko sets down his iPhone on the bed. It is 2:07 in the morning. He should be asleep. She would be asleep. She probably wouldn't want to talk to him outside of practice and games anyway.

 

She, is Naomi Young, one of the newest additions to the Dynamo roster, and the prettiest woman that Jarkko has ever laid eyes on. Her 62 inch, slender frame glides so effortlessly across the ice, making it nearly impossible for Jarkko to maintain focus. How could he, with an angel skating around on the ice. Her athletic prowess only heightens Jarkko's attraction. How can this small female compete with the rest of the VHL, she must be incredibly tough. That is what stops Olsen cold every time he thinks about dialing that number.

 

Landry told Olsen that an interteam relationship could never work, when Jarkko asked about his "friend" in another league's situation. Maybe he's right. He's probably right. No I'm right. She needs to know how I feel, needs to hear it, maybe she feels the same. Of course she does, screams the inside of Jarkko's head, a deity not always known to have Olsen's best interests in mind. 

 

Jarkko picks up the phone. It is 2:33a. Jarkko dials the number and hits call. No more second guessing.
