Peace 1,562
DAVOS, SWITZERLAND -- Rylan Peace has produced rather well this season, but his rookie tally is all but forgotten; he sits on pace for one hundred and two points in a full seventy two game schedule. Playing on the second line, on the right flank with Pajari as his centremen and Crimson as his fellow winger, Peace contributed a modest forty six points in his seventy two game rookie campaign, but this season Peace is on pace for one hundred and two points as the top line centre of the Davos Hockey Club, effectively - assuming he reaches that potential - doubling his rookie season as a first year centre. But right now his stats are polar opposites of what most would have otherwise assumed, if they were comparing his skills and abilities to what he displayed during his first year in the VHL. He has sixty four points right now, compared to forty six last season; one point four one points per game, compared to point six three eight (repeating) points per game last year; he's got a plus twelve with a moderately successful Davos team, where as he only had a plus seven on what should have been the best second line in the VHL last season. What has enabled Peace to achieve a far greater success this season than the year prior? "Well," he began. "Admittedly it was my defensive play. During my time with Riga I wasn't too concerned about winning puck battles along the board, or playing a positional defensive game and it lead to - well - a rather disappointing season for me. Now I'm playing more physical, going into the puck battles believing I can win, forcing turnovers and making key interceptions and it's been beneficial to quite a few people, but it's been mostly my GM and line mates." "Dahlberg was trash last season, the only thing he had going for him was how far up his own ass his head got, but now he's got a catalyst to exercise more creative freedom and despite his cocky attitude and generally displeasing and repulsive personality, he can - sorta - play hockey." "Shawn made a trade that brought me into the club, and asked me to be the teams number one centre, so I converted and then signed a long term contract with Davos until my last season of VHL eligibility. I've been that number one centre for him and a piece he can build Davos around, I just need to improve on my faceoffs and I'm slowly doing that." "It's no secret Svoboda struggled during his rookie season, but on the right flank with Dahlberg and I he'll be the most improved player in the VHL. Although not performing like Dahlberg or myself, he's still at a point per game and is a key piece on that lineup. The on-ice chemistry the three of us have makes us one of the most lethal lines in the league and that's something Davos will have for quite some time... well unless Dahlberg turns into a greedy [expletive removed] and bails because he didn't get the nine million he's asking for." Rylan Peace ended the interview by showing us a picture of Dahlberg's face on a pile of cow crap. "It's where he belongs," he stated. "Natural habitat right there."
