Gruber Gets Going

Hans Gruber was an unknown FA pickup by Philadelphia not long after the dust settled post draft. He moved his way up the lineup and has since been traded it Saskatoon where he is smack dab in the middle of a mad dash for the final playoff spot.

Since arriving, he has put GMs of the Victory Hockey League on notice, scoring 61 points (15 goals 46 assists) in 67 games. He’s actually scored at an 83 point pace per 72 games since arriving. He’ll surpass 170 TPE this week too, and is a near lock to hit the 200 limit come the deadline.

Gruber was also a last minute addition to Team Europe in the WJC, and has impressed there. In a third line role, Gruber has scored two goals and added five assists, good enough for third on his team in scoring. There’s some impressive names on that team, a few that will be high end picks in the upcoming draft.

No matter how you slice it, Gruber is doing his best to make a name for himself and make himself known. No doubt about it, he’ll be a contributor no matter where he goes.
