With news that the New York Americans had scraped into the playoffs earlier today, was met with a thunderous reaction from the devoted fan-base. It had been a struggle at times this season and often looked like the Americans were going to be heading home early to relax and watch the VHL's better teams battle it out for Continental Cup glory. Now the team is preparing for the finals, hoping to find a better chemistry than was on display at certain times this season.

One player who has struggled for a number of reasons, has been disappointing forward Vaydar Odinsson. The much hyped young Norwegian was second, only to eventual ROTY Julian Borwinn in his rookie year but has been poor since and struggled to make an impact behind players like Dan Wilinsky and Leph Twinger. His ice time has reduced and so have his opportunities to contribute to the teams statsheet on a more productive basis. A 60 point total(30/30) simply isn't good enough in Odinsson's eyes and it's been reported that once the season has been completed, he will make his way to Free Agency to try and find the best fit moving forward. That fit may well be New York, but it remains to be seen if this new development will see the Americans Front Office cut their losses and move on from the unpredictable and untrustworthy BOOM™ Agency.

Several GM's, if not all, are aware that Odinsson, like an orchid, needs certain conditions to thrive and grow to his full potential. The only question is; where will that greenhouse be?
