Toronto Legion: A Brief History (S1-S19)

Recommended Posts

The Toronto Legion are one of the only teams in the history of the VHL to not have moved or been rebranded. They are one of the most illustrious franchises in the history of the VHL because well it is Toronto.

Continental Cup

Season 9 Continental Cup Roster
C - Kevin Brooks (C)
C - Mike Szatkowski
LW - Wolfgang Stein
LW - Kered Jones
RW - Branden Snelheid (A)
RW - Dany Ribody
D - Jochen Walser (A)
D - Ilya Kliment
D - Markus Sedin
D - Alex Kachur
G - Alex Gegeny

The Season 9 Continental Cup winning squad had 3 HoFers on the roster with Kevin Brooks and Mike Szatkowski down the middle and Jochen Walser manning the blueline. Branden Snelheid was a very good player in his own right as well and might be a HoFer too but my memory is a bit foggy on that. Alex Gegeny in net is great because he is one of the best in the business at the time even though his career was so short.

Regular Season/Playoff Record

Unfortunately, there are no records which are available to break down the teams for the first 19 Seasons in the VHL for any of the teams which is a crying shame.
