Life After Hockey

Recently ex-Cologne Express General Manager Joey Kendrick met with some former players and office bosses in a Victory Hockey League financial conference. The individuals discussed current league related issues and marketability goals for the long haul. One of the growing concerned seemed to be the leagues top executives job at recruiting and attracting overage CHL players. In the past few seasons the attraction has grown to the credit of some great scouting and advertising. However, many of that can be looked at as the tiny people doing a their job. The conference wanted a more firm and thorough job down from the front office of the VHL.

"We just see the league grow only if the top guys can commit and actually do something. Otherwise they are just figureheads and we've been calling on this for several years now. It is great to have former players sons in the league but we also need to grab players from other markets and areas of the world", said Marek Van Urho (head of European scouting).

Among those in attendance were Scott Boulet (former Calgary GM/Player), Chris Julien (former Stockholm GM/Player), Marek Van Urho (former Reign Goaltender), Tyler Vassell (VHLM Ambassador), Benoit Dusablon (head of Equipment Sales), Peter Payne (Current Player Safety VP) and Raul Thundercat (Head of Censorship and Name Creation).

Can not go a week without taking a shot.

I'd just like to see something happen, all I've seen is discussion happen but no official Recruiting Drive, Huge Announcement regarding a video or anything. It gets frustrating going out of my way to get something done when I know it could have success by double of what we've seen. Want to make a statement, make it so that Recruitment is in "Victor's Era".
