TheFlash 317
Hans Gruber has managed to fly under the radar his entire inagural season. Just missing out on the draft, he was picked up by Philly as a free agent. Starting out on the third line, he worked his way up to top line minutes after 30 games, only to be shipped off in a fire sale to Saskatoon. He excelled there, scoring 45 points in 42 games. This performance earned him a last minute addition to Team Europe at the World Junior Chamionship, where he was a key cog in the machine that won gold. Despite all the achievments, all the success, he's still looked over by most GMs who are drooling over the high end TPE players at the top of the draft. At 224 TPE, Gruber would likely be a mid first round pick in years past. This year, there's a shot he slips into the third round. The idea that a team could pick two players from this class and still get a player like Gruber (one who is very active, caps 95% of the time, solid build) is unreal. Gruber has all the tools to be a top player in the VHL in 4 or 5 seasons. Whichever team takes him is getting a steal. They're getting a playmaking center who is defensivley capable. One who isn't a shiney new toy like some higher picks but will more then get the job done for a team and be a leader.
