Hans Gruber was picked at 28th overall, in the third round by the Wolves in Saturday's draft. He expected to go a bit earlier, but hasn't been discouraged by this and looks forward to getting together with his new team and getting the season underway. We sat down with him for a quik interview post draft.

Q: Hans, what were your thoughts on draft night? Were you nervous when you started to slip?

A: I wouldn't say I was nervous. I had been contacted by a few teams, and when their picks came up in the second round I was sure that my name would be called. When it wasn't, I was disappointed but knew that my turn would come sooner than later. I had spoken to Vancouver before the draft and had a feeling they would take me when that pick came around.

Q: Thoughts on Vancouver so far? How can you contribute to a team with a good group of veterans?

I love it. Season is getting underway tomorrow so we are all preparing for the grind. I think I bring a hard working attitude. I work hard in my own end and take pride in that side of my game. I work hard to perfect my game in the faceoff circle as well, and look forward to hopefully being one of the top draw takers in the league one day. I also think my offensive game is coming around nicely, and I think by the time I'm able to crack the top six, I'll be a teriffic two way forward.
