TheFlash 317
In the first quarter of the season, the Vancouver Wolves looked well primed to make a run at this years championship. Sitting atop the North American conference, the Wolves depth has done them well to this point. Being led by the usual suspects, Davis and Louth, the offence is really firing on all cylinders. Their power play is tops in the league at 21.67%, and it was showcased in their latest game versus the Seattle Bears. The Wolves made them pay, scoring four times with the man advantage. 2nd line centerman Rauno Palo has been money on the power play as well, scoring a team leading 17 points on the power play. But not every team is perfect. With solid depth being filled out by younger players, this might look great for the future but the Wolves get bitten when these lines are on the ice. 2nd overall pick Julius Freeman is the only rookie who has not been a liability on the ice, and that's largely because he shares the ice with the team's top two players. But Hans Gruber (-20), Denver Wolfe (-16), Shawnomir Jagr (-13), are just a few of the rookies who have gotten scored on when they're on the ice. It's not a lack of talent, as these young players certainly have that, but playing against some of the leagues more experienced lines is usually a rough go for lower TPE players. As these players remain active, their luck will almost certainly change, but for now this is the Wolve's one glaring weakness and could be their downfall in big games.
