RIGA, Latvia - After being selected at 6th overall by the Seattle Bears in the S34 VHL Entry Draft, Mikey Blade has spent the past two seasons with the team and while he had solid seasons, he hasn't been happy with his performance. Putting up 63 and 65 points thus far in his career, he was traded in the off-season to the Riga Reign where he'd be relied on much more than in Seattle.

After starting the season as one of the best in the league, Blade cooled off and showed his frustration for a few games. Since then he's rounded out to be consistent and pair with Robin Gow as one of the better duos in the league where they sit with 29 points a piece. The play of these two paired with the outstanding performance of Mike Szatkowski Jr. has this young Riga team sitting 2nd in the European Conference and competing a lot sooner than anticipated.
