The city of Mississauga declared yesterday, June 2nd, Mississauga Hounds Day in honor of the beloved expansion franchise in the city. The city has very much come to love the team, and decided to show it in a number of ways. A parade, complete with floats, balloons, and a full band, marched through the center of the city, with many thousands of people in attendance. Popular floats include the Callum McElroy beer float, shooting beer and liquor directly into the crowd, and the Hulk Hogan balloon. Critics did complain that the balloon failed to capture the scope of his massive, python-like arms, but admitted that the rest of the balloon was accurate. To cap it all of was many of the players riding on a large, Hound-shaped float at the end of the parade. Many restaurants served Hounds-themed food, including Hound Dogs (blue and silver hotdogs) and Hound Chopped Salad (made of an odd, blue and silver meat). People loved the taste of the Hound Chopped Salad, but many said it made their stomachs violently upset. We’ve reached out to the manufacturer of the Hound Chopped Salad, but have not heard any comments from the company. So far, three of the people who ate it are threatening with lawsuits. We will keep you posted with further developments.
