Playoff Push

The Kings have made some progress near the end of the season. They only have 3 games left and have moved up to sixth in the standings. Management has been trying to avoid a first round showdown with the Saskatoon Wild. However, these two teams could be on a collision course if things break perfect. The Wild are not going to fall out of fourth place but they could move up to third. The same holds true for the Kings, although they could fall to seventh in the standings. One very possible outcome could be that the Wild finish fourth and the Kings finish fifth which would set them right up for the first round match up. The fans of both organizations would love to see the contest as they do not have much love for one another. Mexico City is brand new to hockey but the people have fallen in love with the sport and can't wait to pack the arena for their first ever playoffs. Time will tell and we wish both teams success! Derek England has really found his game lately and moved up to ninth in the defensive leaders for the league. Reports have shown that he has been working on discipline as he has the most penalty minutes compared to any other player on the Kings. When asked about it he told us that he had a very slow start to the season but has almost reached the TPE cap so expect better play as we head to the playoffs!
