Devise 4,475
It has hardly been the sophomore season that many Malmo Nighthawks fans were hoping for. With the improvement overall of their young core, as well as a couple of veteran pieces many thought Malmo's fortunes may be even better in Season 67 than in S66. Unlike in 66, where the team got off to a surprisingly hot start this seasons Nighthawks have consistently remained in a lot of hockey games, but have been inconsistent in the win column. The end result puts them second last in the league standings, only better than the rebuilding New York Americans with 48 points in 58 games played. With 14 games to go, a 17 point gap between them and the final playoff spot, and two teams still ahead of them in that race, it is very likely that Malmo will miss the playoffs for their second season. The Nighthawks do have a few bright spots though, and as the team has struggled there has been an element of the team finding the niche it may fill as the team looks to start having successful seasons. Young Matthew Materazo is having a very good season, leading all Malmo players in points currently sitting at 62 points in 58 games played. Having a young player begin to start showing signs of over a point per game is actually the type of thing a team like Malmo needs heading forward. Otherwise Malmo has offensively at least seen a well rounded team approach that has kept them in games otherwise they shouldn't of been in. The obvious weak spot right now is on defense and in goal, but as the team grows they could be a superstar or two away from building something more competitive. Elmebeck 378
Fun fact, in the accent southern Swedes speak, "Timeout" sound exactly like "Thai mat" (e.g. Thai food = timeout).
