Breaking news out of Toronto this week: Left Winger Oyorra Arroyo has announced that he intends to retire at the season's end. The announcement was made on Tuesday, just one day after fellow Left Winger and Toronto teammate Veran Dragomir announced his impending retirement as well. The pair have been instrumental in Toronto's magic this season, as the Legion have already clinched a playoff spots with 14 games still to go. They are a virtual lock for the Victory Cup this season and are currently on pace for 116 points, the most for a Victory Cup winner since the S62 Calgary Wranglers (of which Arroyo was also a part of). Arroyo's announcement came before the team's hosted the Malmo Nighthawks, a game that the Legion won 7-2. Arroyo capped the night off with an all time great performance, scoring 1 goal and registering 4 assists in the game. Arroyo has proven to be a solidifying force in the Legion's locker room throughout his career, and he's been a huge anchor in Toronto's 2nd line, making them one of the hardest matchups to play around. Toronto has been on a warpath after missing the playoffs last season, and with the way they've been playing, they appear to be the favorite to win their 3rd Continental Cup in 4 seasons.
