New fans foster VHL Expansion

 The VHL is in the middle of experiencing a massive growth period. This has allowed the league to expand both its major league and minor league multiple times in the last couple of seasons. The expansion continues with the recent announcement of two new franchises getting added to the VHL major league next season. In all, there have been 8 new franchises created, 5 in the VHLM and 3 in the VHL.

 

Many attribute the recent increase in fans to the uncovering of the VHL’s inner operation. Last season, the VHL publically admitted to being a simulation. The explanation of the technology behind simulating and then showcasing games to fans both live and viewing remotely has caught the imagination of people worldwide.

The technology is being promoted by the VHL as a type esports hybrid. The VHL promotes the physicality and athleticism of their hockey players, while at the same time pumping up how amazing their technology is. The esports hybrid approach attracts fans of both traditional sports, like ice hockey, fans that like to see athletes perform to the top of human capabilities and pure esports fans, fans that don’t care if what they’re watching is just a video game.

 

If the growth continues at its current rate, you can expect additional franchises to be awarded before too long.
