jRuutu 2,483
The S67 playoffs started earlier this week, Riga managed to secure a 4-1 series win against Moscow, Vancouver - Calgary series is still going on - Vancouver is leading 3-2 though, so next game is a big one. I met Rauno Palo of Vancouver Wolves after the game 5 and asked couple questions from him, this is what happened: Hey Rauno! Thoughts on game 5?RP: Good game from us, managed to create a lot of chances to score, so in that way, the score could have been bit nicer, but a win is a win and we are holding all the keys on our hands, 3-2 series lead is a nice place to be. A lot of speculation has been going about you and Calgary center Joel Ylonen fighting, third time already in this series, what is going on?RP: Yea we have been going at it, dropped the gloves again today, I think he managed to get the better of me, but there is still game six - gotta try and get back at him. Why do you guys fight so often?RP: Not sure, we fought a couple of times when he was still in New York years ago and obviously now again, I think he is drawn towards me. He sees me: a man who can do it all - a magic man with hands for days. Can´t help himself, like yin and yang - I´m his yin, us fighting is meant to be. When he or anyone else comes up to me and asks if I would like to go? I´m not going to say no. So there is no drama behind it?RP: Not at all, we have been together in the national team and in general with the Finnish players I have a straight-up relationship, play hard and whatever happens on the ice stays on the ice. Game six is tomorrow in Calgary, home-ice advantage a difference-maker?RP: Could be, but can´t underestimate this 3-2 lead we have at the moment, at some point they have to open up their play and try to score, all we have to do is play smart and wait for our chances, of course staying out of the penalty box will be crucial for both teams, series is at the point now where one bad penalty can be the difference between off-season starting and going to the next round. What players you think will impress tomorrow?RP: I have a feeling Hans Gruber will score couple goals and push Vancouver to the next round, he has no goals so far in the playoffs, but what better time to score than now? From Calgary I´d say Wahl in the net is going to get it, a lot of shots coming up and we are going to crash the net with speed and force, so Wahl will fairly surely play the best game of the season next - is that going to be enough though? Not sure. Thank you Rauno and good luck in the game six! Elmebeck 1 Link to comment https://vhlforum.com/topic/68265-palo-interview-after-game-five/ Share on other sites
Elmebeck 378
Hans Gruber Sorry, but that caught me off guard. I generally dislike pop-culture names, or 4chan-silliness, but that one will do. Shoot the glass.
