Cornholio 182
Since this is theme week and there's too much history to choose from -- I had to try to pick out something in particular. I just noticed now that Wolf Stansson Jr. apparently finished third in the league in shots blocked with 175, which is pretty cool. WSJ wasn't much of a shot blocker in the VHLM, so this is a nice turn of events for the Icelandic giant defender and may have given me something else to aim for in terms of trying to make VHL history. Shots blocked. So let's check out some of the top dogs. 1.) Markus Lidstrom [S1-S9] - 1407 in 648 G 2.) Edwin Encarnacion [S35-S42] - 1388 in 578 G 3.) Sexy McSexington [S3-S10] - 1361 in 574 G 4.) Patrice Reynaud [S3-S9] - 1306 in 506 G 5.) Alexander Valiq [S30-S37] - 1288 in 576 G That's not bad. Looking at Lidstrom's numbers, he averaged about 2.17 shots block per game, which amounts to 156 per season. WSJ is way ahead of that pace as a rookie, which is fantastic news. Patrice Reynaud seems to have the highest average shot blocks per game with 2.58 - which amounts to almost 186 shots blocked per game. Only if he had played one more season, he'd have owned the record. Checking out the All-Time Stats [WIP] it seems that this is only updated to S64, so I have no idea if somebody's beaten this mark yet or not. But if not, then I'd only need to play 7.04 more seasons while maintaining my current pace to break this record. Doable? I hope so lol.
