DoktorFunk 810
For the first time in his career, Scott Greene, forward skater for the Seattle Bears, has made it to the VHL Finals. It has been a long road for Seattle, although not as long as everyone thought. Seattle began rebuilding last season, hiring on and drafting a new core of players, and has been fighting tooth and nail ever since to make their mark on the league. All of their hard work has paid off, and we caught up with Scott Greene to see what he thought of their success. Interviewer: Hey there Scott. So, this is the first time you’ve played in this kind of high-pressure situation. What do you think your team has to do to win the Continental Cup? Scott Greene: Honestly, I think everything has been clicking really well lately. We added a couple of amazing players during the season, like YVONNE and Shawn Glade, and they’re really brought a lot of fire to us. We need to keep doing what we’ve been doing. We played well and took Toronto to game 7 and swept Calgary. Both of those teams are fantastic guys with amazing skill, so I would never say it was easy. We just need to keep doing what we’re doing and keep our foot on the gas. I: How do you feel about the way you’ve been playing? SG: I feel okay. I think I really played a fantastic series against Calgary, but before that I really felt I was slacking against Toronto. So I guess I feel good? We’ll see how I do against Malmo. I’m optimistic. I: How did the team react about going to the finals? SG: Ya know, we were all super excited. We’ve always been confident in our abilities and knew we were a good team, but things just really clicked this year. It’s nice to see that we were right in guessing we were awesome. We all really want to win the Cup and prove how good we are. We went out for drinks to celebrate. I: How’s the morale on the team? SG: It’s really high. We’re super excited and happy. This is the first final series for a lot of us, and we’ve been dreaming about this for our whole lives. It’s a lot to take in, but I really don’t think anyone is nervous. We’re just excited to get out there and play some hockey. I: You have one season left on your rookie contract, as do a lot of the Bears. Some would say that it’s not likely the whole group will stick around. Do you think that you’ll stick with the Bears or will you explore options elsewhere? SG: I’d love to stay in Seattle. This city, the fans, the team have all been amazing. I want to stay here my whole career, or at least most of it. I’d like to be an all-time great player for the Bears, or at least have this go down as the all-time greatest Bears team. I: Thank you for your time, Scott! We’ll be watching closely! SG: Thanks! ___________________________ The Bears have a solid chance to surprise everyone and start a dynasty. We shall see if that happens in the coming days. 500ish words Link to comment https://vhlforum.com/topic/71633-scott-greene-and-seattle-in-the-finals/ Share on other sites
