TheLastOlympian07 2,388
Shawnomir Jagr is coming into his 4th season in the VHL. He was drafted in Season 66 as a 2nd round pick, the fact he has this many practice hours already proves that it was a good pick. However, he has not lived up to his own personal expectations after seasons of 16, 31 and 45 points. This season is pivotal in his development as he is no longer on a rookie contract and now the 3 season veteran should start to become a point per game player. He will need to if Vancouver has any hopes of going back to the finals and winning the Continental Cup. GM Beaviss has shown a lot of faith in Jagr so far as there was a particular FA who would have been a nice fit with the Wolves but Jagr most likely would have been shown the door in a cap cutting move. With the world cup happening after Free Agency this seemed to have sparked Jagr as he had a wonderful tournament putting up 3 goals and 11 assists for 14 points in 10 games. This was good enough for 2nd in tournament scoring. Jagr also finished tied for 2nd in Medal Round scoring when he added 2 goals and 2 assists for 4 points for a total of 5 goals and 13 assists for 18 points in 14 games. Not a bad showing at all as Jagr helped team World upset Canada in the semis before losing to USA in the gold medal game. A Silver medal isn't much to scoff at though and is a great accomplishment for Jagr as far as stats and how the tournament finished as a whole. zepheter
