Agency scouting for talent

The Ruutu player agency announced yesterday that they have potentially found a new player to represent the agency in VHL! Rauno Palo, of course, has been in the league for some time, but now that his retirement is becoming reality in the near future - the agency is looking for new talent. There is an Albanian winger who has been making enough noise to get Ruutu agency interested, he is currently living and playing in Albania.

 

How they found out about the guy is a mystery, perhaps someone sent them a video, but the agency has sent in scouts to look him play multiple times already, one of the scouts released a quick video where he commented on the players game and ability:

 

 

By the sound of it, he is not the smartest player with or without the puck just yet but has a lot of potential which can be seen with the fact that multiple scouts were sent to monitor the player. You don´t send scouts to watch a total wild card.

 

CEO of Ruutu agency commented on the case this morning:

We are always looking for talented players, there is one player who we are interested in a lot. Been a while since we had real physical wingers here and with this guy, they don´t get much more physical. He can play both right and left-wing. Has excellent wheels and above-average shot. The physicality can be a question mark for some coaches, but I think there is still a place for physical players in the game, you need to have players who set the tempo and protect the star players.

 

I have read the scouting reports and from those, I can say that he is closer to classic enforcer than a power forward for example right now, but keep in mind that he is still really young. Plenty of time to improve as a player and he has big holes in his game still, needs to work on understanding the game better, where to skate without the puck and in general improve his decision making. He is a big boy, does not only have a toolbox - he has a shed, he just needs to keep working on the tools.

 

Of course, everything is still possible, we have not signed any deals or contracts with the player, but we are interested. I´m not going to release the name or any more information about the player just yet, the plan is to keep the player away from media attention and allow him to decide the future in peace. Around the trade deadline is when you can expect more news.

 

 

Not that much information given out, we tried to look from eliteprospects.com, but could not find any Albanian players who could fit the description, a real hidden gem found by the Ruutu agency? Time will tell, VHL trade deadline is not far away, traditionally new talent has been joining VHLM around the trade deadline, so keep your eyes open!
