The Prauge phantoms dressing room has been a bit of a tense place the past couple weeks. After winning their first 7 out of 10 they have fallen off the face of the earth, and completely vanished from playoff contention as they now sit near the bottom of the standings with a abysmal 15-23-3 Record. The players are visibly frustrated with the longest losing streak they’ve faced yet.

Wins have been hard hard to find for the young club, but they are showing that they have taken strides forward from last season. “we’re a much better team this year, even though we havnt been winning, we’ll get there” Phantoms Center Alex Pearson said after their latest loss to Expansion counterpart the D.C Dragons, who have 18-20-3 record. The team seemed optimistic of their future and got off to a hot start, Center Alex Pearson dominated competition and shot up the scoring lead ladder early in the season and looked like a superstar, but all that quickly faded as the season went on. As veteran goaltender Owen May got off to a hot start, there were rumour his life was in turmoil off the ice. He requested a leave of absence from practice’s and all other team events but would still backup rookie Solomon Crawford who wasn’t handed the net. General manger Jason Glasser said he has confidence in the young netminder, saying that he is the future of the team, even if that’s not this season.

The phantoms play has been sloppy defensively and the offense has started to dry up. Phantoms Captain Erik Draven who has been one of the more noticeably frustrated players leads the team in points, followed closely behind by goal’s leader Alex Pearson. The two have formed a dynamic partnership on the top line, and when they are playing at their best have been scary good.

Rookie Goaltender Solomon Crawford has taken some unfair heat in the last few weeks, sitting at a 4-14-1 record, he has shown some promise, but the jump from VHLM to VHL is a lot harder for goaltenders then anyone else, and Crawford has shown nothing but positive vibes and a good spirits, attending practice weekly and putting in any extra effort possible to improve his game and the team.
