In just his sophomore season with the up and coming New York Americans, Owen Nolan has found a home. A recent spell of late game heroics are quickly making him a fan favourite of the city. Nolan has tallied 6 game winning goals so far this year placing him behind only captain Boris the Forest for New York in that regard. Not only is Nolan scoring some important late game goals, but he's also helping out in the shootout. His 6 goals on 10 attempts there make him the most effective on his team.

We briefly caught up with Nolan to ask him for his thoughts about this part of his game. "I'm not a big believer that game winners are a meaningful stat; every goal matters to me. I guess if anything it shows that the team has faith in me to go out there and play important minutes... (Shootouts) for me are just one of those things I barely ever practice, so its probably just dumb luck. I will say that it's easy to overthink it out there so sometimes the less you practice it, the better it goes". For New York's sake lets hope this isn't just dumb luck. They will need to keep relying on Nolan in their late season push to stay ahead of Toronto in the NA conference.
