Seabass 593
The bar was set last year when Seabass Perrin entered the league with a 42 point rookie season, almost matching his offensive numbers in the minors from his Yukon Rush days. He also managed to showcase his shutdown potential with his 178 hits and a league leading 207 shots blocked. All seemed to be going well and he was developing his game day by day. This year however, Perrin seems to have fallen under a sophomore slump, a pretty bad one at that. Perrin seems to have improved his defensive play but there's only 10 games left to the season and Perrin hasn't even managed to hit the 20 point mark despite playing top minutes on the Phantom's first defensive pairing all season long. So what gives? What's the problem? "Honestly I try not to think too much about my lack of offense this season, i'm still new to the league and i'm focusing more on my positioning on the ice and being a better player away from the puck to be able to better shutdown the opposing team's offense. My role here is not to lead the league in scoring, my role here is to keep pucks away from our net and to frustrate the other team's forwards. I'll master my defensive game first and the offense will come sooner or later.
