Unsung Hero: Lucas Nygren

 

Looking at the Malmo roster we do not see any fancy offensive numbers. Joseph McWolf is leading the flock with just a meager 53 points in 63 games and this goes all the way down to Hugh Chan with 36 points in the same amount of games. But there is one player that is way-way-wayyyyyyy below the rest and that is our waterboy Lucas Nygren.

Lucas managed to score two goals and 2 assists this year (probably by accident) as he is mostly left out of the line up. He is not on any of our forward lines and only plays as ‘extra forward’ for the team whenever an extra body is needed on the ice.

This he does to make sure his teammates get more time on the ice to try to improve their point totals (and failing at this), but this sacrifice that is made by Lucas shows the true spirit of the team, the team comes first before any individual success, and due to that Lucas Nygren can be seen as the true unsung hero of this Malmo franchise!
