A Side-Story Between The Lynx and Hounds (Goaltending Situation)

Recommended Posts

The VHLM Playoffs has begun and in an exciting fashion! The Mississauga Hounds completed the sweep against the Ottawa Lynx, and I have a little side story between these 2 teams leading up to this moment.

In Season 68, the goaltenders for both teams (Aleksandrov and Spyro) were on opposite teams as Free Agents. The Mississauga Hounds found themselves in a playoff spot with Aleksandrov on their roster, while the Ottawa Lynx finished in last place with Spyro on theirs (though there were a number of contributing factors aside from the goaltending). The Hounds then lost in the first round sending them to the offseason as well.

Whether it was luck or chance, both teams ended up drafting eachother's goalies for the Season 69 VHLM Draft-- and then both teams finished the regular season with a playoff spot. You could call it a "win / win" swap considering both teams furthered their success afterwards, but fate would put these 2 teams against eachother in the first round of the season 69 playoffs. With the Mississauga Hounds sweeping the Ottawa Lynx-- I'm sure you could say that the Hounds not only won the series, but have also won this little goalie exchange aswell.
