Guy was asked in a recent press conference what he would do for a living if he were not a hockey player and it got him to thinking. Hockey has been his vocation for so long and he’s worked so hard on his game that he hasn’t had any time to get good enough to do anything else. His current plans are to play out his VHL career, which he hopes to be a long one, and then go into coaching, scouting, or maybe even broadcasting.

But what if that doesn’t really pan out. Well, Guy has always enjoyed cooking – he’s French after all – and he’s actually pretty good at it. So, he’s thinking maybe he’d train up to be a chef. Both his mom and dad are handy in the kitchen and they’ve taught him traditional French cuisine, but also the specialties of his native Bretagne: crêpes and galettes, Coquille Saint-Jacques, and  Farz Forn among others.

However, when Guy thinks about it, he is probably not passionate about cooking enough to undertake the rigorous training required to become a chef and he can’t stand just being “good enough” so he realizes he’ll just have to keep working as hard as he can to make hockey is one and only life’s vocation.
