Scott Greene’s View on Dieting Raises Eyebrows

The world was shocked today when Scott Greene from the Seattle Bears stated that they would like to announce that he has switched to a diet of pure chocolate. This is an unprecedented statement from a sports player of any kind, much less a player of Scott Greene’s renown. When asked for comment, Scott Greene had this to say: "Chocolate presents a lot of health benefits, and it’s time that the world recognized them. I will be sticking with this diet for the foreseeable future.”

Backlash against this statement is quite understandable. Jerry Garcia of the Malmo Nighthawks says “I’m shocked” and continues to say "Dave’s not here, man.” The reason they feel this way is reasonable, as Jerry Garcia is constantly high as a kite, and also as the comments made by Scott Greene are somewhat at odds with the rest of the Victory Hockey League.

Scott Greene isn’t without his supporters, however. Hulk Hogan of the Seattle Bears is one of his most prominent supporters, and has even gone as far as joining Greene on stage at a recent press conference to defend them. “Don’t worry, he’s just cultivating mass, brothers,” says Hogan. “We’re gonna get him shredded in no time.”

This kind of statement is the type that will continue to draw attention to Greene. They’re already quite the high-profile player on the Seattle Bears, and there are those that would say no publicity is bad publicity.

However, these comments have received their fair share of backlash from even the higher-ups in the Victory Hockey League community. One of the highest profile dissenters of the Board of Governors, Victor, had this to say about the comments: “I really don’t like being bothered about this kind of stuff, but it’s probably not healthy at all.”

Scott Greene responded by saying “I understand why they had to react this way. I really do. But I think he missed the broader context of what I said. When I say that switching to a diet of pure chocolate is good for your health, I say it for the betterment of the entire Victory Hockey League and to call attention to the growing dissatisfaction that is addressed in what I said. Victor would do well to remember that.”

Going against someone as powerful as Victor could be a big mistake for Scott Greene, but, if what they say is true, Greene sees themselves as an inspiration and a role model. Sometimes these movements gain traction, but more often than not, they fizzle out. We have no doubt that Greene has the best of intentions, but the way that they’ve chosen to express it has certainly ruffled some feathers.

If Scott Greene wasn’t as skilled as he is, he might not have chosen to speak up the way that he has. But, as it is, the Victory Hockey League may not be able to tolerate one of it’s brightest stars speaking up in this manner. Punishment may not be far behind. We will keep you posted as this story develops.
