The Vancouver Wolves are coming off a season in which they won the Victory Cup as the leagues best Regular Season Team. Many thought they would carry this into the playoffs. However, the Quarterfinal scare against the Toronto Legion was a precursor to what was to come. After barely beating Legion who barely made the playoffs themselves and finished 30 points behind them in the standings. The Wolves needed Game 7 to beat the Legion. The Bears though, also struggled a bit needing 7 games to beat the New York Americans who finished 23 points behind them in the standings. So when Vancouver and Seattle met with a chance to go to the finals. The Wolves would be in the finals for the 3rd time in 4 tries while the Bears were the defending champions. However, instead of needing 7 games like many thought, the Bears won game 6 on home ice to send the Wolves home. Where do the Wolves go from here? Top defender Dijilah Starlord retired for the final time after announcing his retirement in Season 67 after being acquired by the Wolves. It seems the Wolves core will be mostly the same but Starlord is a big hole in the lineup to replace. I guess we will see what happens next season as this is a huge chance squandered by the Victory Cup winners.
