A Farewell to Stelio Kontos

Until I read either the most recent VHLM Mag or the one before it, I had completely forgotten the scrub I created was even still in the VHL.  I'm not really sure why I even bothered creating Kontos, since I knew I wasn't able to be active at the time, nor was I all that interested in the VHL at all.

 

That said, Kontos had...um...a career, I guess.  I'm not even going to bother looking at his stats, except to remember that I think he led the VHLM in blocked shots this season.  I was building him as a tough, hitting, fighting defenseman.  I have no idea why I thought that would appeal to me.  The only player I was active for through an entire career, Alex Stoyanovich, was the complete opposite of that.  He once went through an entire season recording only one penalty.

 

Of course, here I am now with a goalie.  This is my third try at a goalie, and the first two went fuck-all nowhere.  I think the welfare program will keep me around for this one, especially since I can get 2/3 of an MS just by posting.  I'll keep doing medias, of course, and I'll get all of those wonderful free points.

 

In summation, I completely forgot this article was about Kontos when I wrote that last paragraph.  That pretty much sums it up.
