It seems the way they play hockey in Antarctica did not prepare Pengu enough for the VHLM. After his first appearance against Mexico City Kings it was abundantly clear the penguin raised talent had work to do. With 23 minutes played he only managed 3 shots, 2 hits, and 2 shot blocks and offered nothing for offense. Unfortunately, he just couldn’t make it work.

Against the talented Ottawa Lynx he did even worse if you can believe it. Roughly the same amount of minutes, he did pretty well on defense blocking 5 shots but again nothing offensively resulting in a +/- of -4. At least he was useful for the team in some way. Defensively, he’s doing more than a team could ask for from a complete rookie. Also, mind a rookie trained by penguins.

Things aren’t all bad though as Pengu seemed to find his footing in the league versus the Las Vegas Aces. He finished the game with 1 goal, and 1 assist. Pengu scored early in the first period for a score of 2-0. He also helped Komarov score the 5th goal in the 3rd period.

Let’s hope Pengu gets his grounding soon cause Halifax 21st really need him to perform.
