After a early exit from the playoffs, the Prague Phantoms can't help but be disappointed with the post-season efforts. Although Prague fans are ecstatic with the growth of the team within a years work, most fans would like to see Prague go deeper in the playoffs. With the looming retirement of their goalie Brick Wahl and expiring contracts, how much more time does Prague have to beat their past seasons efforts? Will they be able to hold on to assets and continue their push for their organizations first cup? Here are the latest rumors about anything Prague.

Brick Wahl

Brick Wahl came over to Prague as an asset that could bridge the gap that the Phantoms needed in order to compete for playoff contention. Wahl did his part in season 70 as Prague found themselves in the EU playoff scene, unfortunately having to face the hot and veteran Moscow Menace. For Wahl, time is running out. Retirement looms around the corner, and rumors say he has one more season left in him. After that, Prague are looking towards Solomon Crawford as their up and coming goaltender. Lots of decisions are made around the goalie position and we look forward to seeing one more season from Wahl, and seeing Crawford continue to develop.

Willie Dredge

Willie Dredge is an soon to be expiring contract in season 71. He signed an extension mid-season for 1 year, reportedly feeling out his time in Prague and seeing where the Phantoms would end up in the standings. Although the Phantoms were able to score a playoff position this season, Willie is rumored to be looking for opportunities to return to North America and play in his home conference. Of course he is already signed to play with Prague this upcoming season 71, rumors state that he is still unsure of his decision and nothing will come of it for now. For the future, it is possible that Dredge gets traded to a North American team looking for a forward of his offensive caliber and youth, or he rides out the season with the team that drafted him and waits for free agency. As it is still early, it is hard to tell if this rumor will find it's truth. Dredge seems to love his teammates in Prague, some even from his former VHLM team Yukon. So the question is, will homesickness get to Dredge and will he make a return to NA?

@sjs88speed Thanks for the mention. Just wanted to tell you this was incredibly well written. Honestly Brick isn't much worth taking about but I appreciate the nod. Good luck as you continue on in your VHL career, you are just starting with us but I have a feeling you will have a good time being on the journey and the best is yet to come ❤️
