Guest
The Victory Hockey Leagues off season was an exciting and gleaming moment for all the new hopefuls entering the league in the Minors. The draft was a success and Frence was drafted in the 33rd position, The Saskatoon Wild took a shot on the outspoken French Winger. Shortly after the draft he was informed that after various meetings with players that they would be naming Frence as the Captain for the season. The tap shocked Frence and his Agent, former player Alex Kachur. Alex has talked up his Agent before the draft but that was his job. Now It is time to get down to business. With his experience in the Victory Hockey League, Alex Kachur knows the work and focus you need to keep on top of your game. So, when the Rinks where available, Kachur had Frence inside Skating, shooting, working on his Vision and many other aspects of his game, the practices would often go late into the evening. Frence wanted to hit the season hard and not disappoint the Management team that gave hi the captaincy. The season started out with a bang as Saskatoon went 3-1 in the first 4 games, Frence and his line mate Kazimir Komarov lit up the team with the majority of the offense, the defense held strong and Saskatoon instantly looked like it could be a playoff team. A few weeks later Saskatoon sits in 4th in the league and holding there own against top teams, teams people thought should or would be the hardest to beat. Many of the reasons for this success is the Locker room. We took a walk around in a practice and asked Komarov what was the secret. “During these times, closed practices, canceled Practices. Adam (Frence) always makes sure we are together as a team. Usually talking the game, the strategy” we then asked him about Frence and how he is as a Captain, his Chemistry with Komarov. “being in the position we are in is showing he leads well. He commands the locker room, he did long before the C. the team respects him, and they are buying into his message” Finally we wanted to figure out why this dup was so successful on the Ice. “I enjoy playing with him, the Chemistry is strong and hopefully we can win some award and lift the team up” We caught up with Adam (Frence) after practice to get his thoughts on everything. “Nothing changes about my game, how I work, how I handle myself. Yes, they named me captain, its just a letter. No letter will make the locker room respect me. Only actions will. I go out every week and make sure I’m pushing myself and my team to be better. They (management) put their trust in me and I will work every game to prove there decision was correct” Saskatoon started strong, the momentum is there. Will this team lead by Frence be able to take it to the next level and compete with the championship teams? Only time will tell. VinCal 112
Review: Well written article. Kept me interested from beginning, when Frence entered the draft and giving details on how hard he worked with his Agent, Former player Alex Kacur. The article filled us in n how the season's going so far for French and even included quotes that were highlighted by Frence and fellow teammate Kazimir Komarov. 8/10 Link to comment https://vhlforum.com/topic/80064-a-wild-start/#findComment-728660 Share on other sites
