A recent interview was held with the DC Dragons defenseman Ricky Johnson to discuss his thoughts on the recent standings after 22 games, DC's off-season acquisitions and future in the VHL.

Interviewer: "The DC Dragons are sitting 4th in the standings right now. A spot they normally wouldn't find themselves in early in the season. What are your thoughts about that?"

Johnson: "Well we've always improved every season and that's primarily due to the efforts we put in every season. Nothing comes easy and our current standings are a reflection of the work we put in"

I: "The GM of the DC Dragons had made some off-season trades to attain a few players including some up-and-coming VHLM players and current teammates Stone Wolski. Care to share your thoughts on this?"

J: "I'm happy with the moves. It sucks to have lost Eriksson and Pouta, but I'm confident the new guys coming in will be a driving force for us in the future. @Enorama has always made some solid moves for the franchise and it's evident for where we currently stand as a team now. The Dragons are in good hands with him."

I: "I'm sure many think the same. Lastly Johnson, where do you see yourself in the future of the VHL?"

J: "I do believe I'll eventually become one of the top defenseman in the league. I'm aware of the steps needed to get there. I'll admit I do lack in my efforts to really push for it, but I also feel I'm doing the best I can to help my team win games. As long as my training and work is resulting in some wins and possibly a championship then I'd be more than happy with a future of mediocracy. I do know that isn't enough to be the best though, so I'll continue to believe I will one of the best in the future."

The DC Dragons currently hold a record of 12-7-3. Of those 22 games, Ricky Johnson has accumulated 13 points (1 Goal & 12 assists). It'll be interesting to see if he lives up to his own hype.
