It's been a few months now that the Prague Phantoms put two of their players on the VHL's Substance Abuse Program (VSAP). One of the two players involved, Seabass Perrin announced on twitter that he was celebrating his 2nd month away from alcohol and other illegal substances.

" Today i'm celebrating 2 months of sobriety and it's been a hard, difficult road to get myself here. Sobriety has been the most difficult obstacle I've faced during my VHL career. It was difficult coming to term with my issues and to finally accept that I needed professional help. I want to thank our General Manager, John Glasser for stepping up in offering me the help I needed to set my career back on the right track and my teammates and friends for being there for me in my time of need. "

Perrin also revealed to The Athletic last week that on top of his issues with alcohol, he had to battle a percocet addiction he had developed after recovering from surgery to repair a torn labrum after season 69. Perrin himself has mentioned how lucky he's been for not getting into more trouble with the law then he had already. It was rumoured Perrin was even quite involved in the drug trade in city of Prague, but that's just a rumour and Perrin has refused to acknowledge any questions on the subject.

" The past is the past now and there's only the future to look forward to. I feel a lot healthier today than i have been in years. Physically I feel like I've come into S71 in the best shape of my life. I have some difficult days mentally still but i'll get there eventually. I feel a lot happier as I'm a lot more involved with the team now on and off the ice. I feel a lot better about myself now."

Perrin has been playing pretty solid hockey this year as his team is sitting in a three way tie for first in the VHL Standings. He currently is 6th in team scoring with 13 points in 22 games.
