Saskatoon, Saskatchewan - Following an exciting playoff series, the Saskatoon Wild have been eliminated from the VHLM playoffs. The underdogs against a 2nd place Yukon Rush team that featured 5th and 6th placed scorers Vin Calia and Alex Armstrong, as well as save percentage leader Nicolas Fomba, the Rush proved too much to handle.

It was not without a good effort by the Wild, however, as they took the Rush to 6 games in a series that some predicted to be a sweep. In the final game Bobby Wyman performed admirably for Saskatoon, recording two assists and the 2nd star in the heartbreaking 3-2 loss. The Wild led the game 2-1 until 16:22 in the 3rd period, when Vin Calia tied it up. This would be the last goal of regulation, sending the game into overtime.

At 8:11 in overtime, Gary Neal received a minor penalty for tripping, and with less than a minute left on the powerplay Jack John capitalized. John’s first goal of the playoffs sent the Rush to the second round.

The Wild now have the offseason to look forward to. With so many first round picks and veterans Neal, Frence, Wyman, Alkamino, Komarov and Gardner returning to the team Saskatoon is projected to be a top team next year.

Really hoping we can bring you back, you were a tremendous guy to have on the Wild and it was a lot of fun to watch you grow as the season went on. You're gonna set the M on fire next year, and I really hope it'll be with us.
