Welfare has its advantages, don't get me wrong.  I get total points earned (how did we land on that... seriously) for doing basically nothing other than having to navigate through this god-forsaken website (which is the best in sim league website for the best sim league in history TBH IRL).  While I have certainly been more active from a "point task" standpoint (see my first few players), the days of spitting out stats to defend whatever stance I took on a subject for 2 extra points is all but behind me.  However, I enjoy the camaraderie and culture the community has developed recently and can't help but hang around, even if I've been a member of the site for some 10-odd years (almost old balls). 

 

I can't say I have experienced claiming welfare in real life (the real IRL), however that has to be pretty discomforting, particularly in this time in our lives, where states (see GA, KY) have seen over 30% of their workforce claim unemployment in recent weeks.  In an age where material comfort reigns king and instant gratification has become the norm, the inability for our society to have prepared a financial safe haven in lieu of the latest iPhone or pair of jeans is really unfortunate.

 

All this to say, I know we are all a bunch of armchair quarterbacks who think spamming a message on discord to justify our day or to ruin someone else's has sadly become common, but let's not forget everyone here has an actual life parallel to this that you don't know anything about...  and they might not be in the same situation as you

 

In summary, give me a job
