Cornholio 182
Fifth-year Prague Phantoms defenseman Wolf Stansson, Jr. has gotten himself off to a strong start through the first 12 games of S72. Netting five goals on top of six assists for a +/- rating of +1 (and blocking 27 shots too). After a slow start, Prague has really picked up the pace, winning five out of their last six games to pull out of the cellar to within a point of first place in the European Conference. "I'm honestly surprised at myself so far this season. It seems like this is the year of the defenseman where the D-heavy S68 Draft gets their chance to shine. I mean, Condor Adrienne is really killing it out there so far. I'm really regretting missing up on him with my fantasy draft. Went with Ambrose Stark over him, pairing him up with Cinnamon Block would have easily given me the best D-man pairing in Fantasy. Oh well. But anyways, back to my play. I honestly was worried coming into this season with our goaltending situation. Going from MVP Brick Wahl to mostly-unproven Solomon Crawford, and you can see why I had reason to be nervous. But we have a great group of defenseman sweeping up everything in front of Crawford, try to make things easy on him as much as possible. We've also really picked up the pace on both defense and offense too as we're leading the league in goals scored… and well, goals allowed too lol. But that's been the opposite of what we did the last couple of years… and look how the last couple of years panned out in the end. So maybe this new philosophy will help us go further than we have ever in franchise history? It's worth a shot. Meanwhile, I'm just gonna try and produce as much as I can on offense because I feel like I've had enough of underperforming and underachieving. Time to show everybody what WSJ is capable of." animal74 1 Link to comment https://vhlforum.com/topic/83172-wsjs-s72-strong-start/ Share on other sites
