Jaxx Hextall is stunning the league right now as he is tied for most wins, has faced the most shots, leads in minutes played and has the best save percentage. Hextall is no stranger to having a heavy work load, since his time of joining in the VHLM he played the last 32 games for Halifax, played all playoff matches, went to Minnesota and played all 72 games and followed that up with playing all playoff games. Joining the Legion Hextall would not be stuck behind another netminder, he would take over the net entirely and play in 64 games and end his first VHL season facing the most shots and the dragging the team to 11 over time losses. It seems that missing the playoffs for the first time in his career has really sparked Hextall to play to the best of his abilities for the start of the season, he's played all 16 games for the legion earning 10 wins, which is tied with his rival Lafontaine, and has posted a .940 save percentage with Bernard not being far behind at .939 but notably has only played 12 games. Hextall has done this having faced the most shots, 582, and having played the most time, 975 minutes. One has to wonder though that with the heavy use of Hextall, if it's gonna start wearing him down later in the season. No one can blame a team for wanting to ride their goalie when their on a hot streak but playing them into the ground can really hurt their play later in the season, or the playoffs. For now we'll just have to wait and see how long Hexy can keep up his excellent play.
