The protests, rooted in proper player compensation, has been the result of the league's hierarchy constantly giving the same members new jobs/titles, and not allowing new hires to join the growing ranks of league officers. "It's like they have a boys club behind the scenes, at the VHL headquarters," said literally every member on the site. To that extent, the surrounding areas of VHL franchises have grown full of people cheering for change as early as last Tuesday. The narrative changed over the weekend, however, when fans left the streets. "A bunch of hooligans started driving in, seemingly from other states, just to cause problems downtown," the major of Seattle explained. "They clearly had no intention of joining the protests, but simply to take advantage of the situation and in doing so, put the greater population at risk of danger." Damaging personal property, setting buildings on site and randomly looting Claires store fronts seemed to be all the rage in Seattle Sunday night.
