Markus Schauer Choked Hard

Markus Schauer came out of the locker room after the game 5 loss to Saskatoon with his head low. Some fans had said they saw him breaking sticks against the wall on his way to the team bus. We managed to ask him a question before he went back to Ottawa, and eventually home in Germany. 
 

You managed to take one game off of Saskatoon in the series, are you happy with the result?

 

"The team played great. Ajay in net did amazing things for us and kept us in the games that were competitive. My personal performance was horrific. I didn't get any points and I felt like I was on the back foot the entire series. My job is to help the team offensively. This time around, I just wasn't that guy."

 

And with that, Markus Schauer took a step off the mic and back on the bus with his team mates, who were more cheery than he was. Schauer posted 0 points in the five games played against Saskatoon. He was a -6 on the series. The most complete effort of his being in game 5 where his +/- was unaffected despite the 7-4 loss.
