solas 1,951
Many young players entered a new chapter in their VHL careers today as 68 players were selected in the Season 73 VHL draft. One such player was goaltender Jean-Pierre Camus, who became the third goaltender selected after Jacob Tonn and Grekkark Gyrfalcon went to Seattle and Malmo respectively. Camus was selected by the Chicago Phoenix, the first of the four new expansion teams to make a pick, and finds himself in position to be the team’s franchise goaltender for the foreseeable future. Camus is coming from a situation in the VHLM where he overperformed for a poor Yukon Rush team, and now could end up in a similar situation in his rookie season as he joins an expansion team that (at the moment) has a fairly small roster. But what does the future look like? “I’m very excited to join the Phoenix,” Camus said at his post-draft press conference. “I like being in a position where there’s pressure on me as a goalie, and I appreciate the trust that the team had in me. I’m really looking forward to making some noise as an expansion team and helping to build up this team for the future. Let’s get to work.” (also we need expansion team emotes here and on Discord) STZ 1 Link to comment https://vhlforum.com/topic/87208-camus-drafted-7th-overall-by-chicago/ Share on other sites
