The New Faces of Davos

Who says three third-round picks can't be exciting? After thinking for quite a while that I'd be around for the draft, I found out at the last second that I wouldn't be and ended up pawning off the draft to @Berocka with a list I threw together, also at the last second. Credit for these choices goes to him, I guess...

 

Empty | @StamkosFan | 39th Overall - Some may recognize Pat Svoboda as a S64 player who saw a decent amount of success and broke the 1,000-TPE mark with Davos. Well, this is his agent making a return! Empty is a good deal less active than Svoboda was, but the name, reputation, and team history here makes this a pick with a shot to be a steal.

 

Vlad Imir | @Big Dee | 42nd Overall - A GM or two may also recognize this agent, though to not nearly as great an extent as with Empty. Big Dee originally created as Dean Big Chungus for the S71 class, a goalie who never made it out of the practice-facility-every-week world. The second time around, though, he seems to have figured things out, with 6-8 capped TPE thrown on top of the practice facility for an altogether respectable earn rate. For a pick this late, that's a steal (to me, comparable to the selection of Chance Rust at 40th last season), and it's no surprise that Imir is by far the best earner of the three.

 

 Teriyaki Chicken | @Hpep | 48th Overall - Well, what do you expect at 48th overall? Chicken, like just about every surrounding pick, is more or less long-gone on paper, having last updated over a month ago. It's still a smart choice, due to a bit of insider knowledge (Chicken's agent may or may not personally know a member with close ties to the Davos organization), but only time will tell if that's enough to spark a return to activity.
