Corco 1,260
Salo Proving to be Key Piece for HSK Rookie netminder Kimmo Salo is keeping the rebuilding Titans in games they shouldn't be in. HELSINKI, Finland - Despite the fact that the young Helsinki Titans are around 10 wins out of a playoff spot at the moment (and Laichly for the rest of the season), Kimmo Salo has refused to give up. Salo exploded onto the scene this in S38, maintaining his perch at the top of the goaltending statistics. Salo currently has a 2.82 Goals Against Average, which is expected due to the inexperienced roster of the Titans; the astounding statistic though, is Salo's .930 Save Percentage, which is 2nd best in the league only to arguable Hall-of-Famer Tuomas Tukio's .936. Of course, both of these numbers will likely change by the end of the season, but just the fact alone that Salo is hanging in there with the elite goaltenders is impressive. Should Salo keep up his play for the rest of his career, Helsinki should be easily set for more than a few cup runs in the future.
