Currently the leading sniper in the VHLM, Christian Mingle is a prospect hot on the VHL scene that has a lot of scouts incredibly perplexed with his skill set. It's unclear if his mesmerizing good looks are the key to his success, but as teammate Venus Thightrap @BladeMaiden put it, she "can verify [he] definitely [knows] where to put" the puck. While there's not a ton of data on the 35-year old Israeli, Mingle has already put in more work in the short time he's been around the VHLM than most prospects do over the course of an entire season, having spent hundreds of hours in the weight room and on the ice, honing his scoring ways!

 

SKILL SCOUTING REPORT

SHOT: No scouting report on Mingle can be done without first mentioning his shot. A combination of Auston Matthews' snap shot and Alexander Ovechkin's one-timer, he has shown through just 4 games that if you give him an inch, Christian Mingle finding a way to score is inevitable.

 

SKATING: While, technically, Mingle knows how to skate, and will not trip over the blue-line as most beginners would, speed and technical skating ability will never be a strong-suit for the sniping center. With work, it can be passable at the next level, and has not shown to hinder him in the early stages of his VHLM career, but it is still not a pretty sight to see when he chugs up the ice.

 

HANDS:  The filthiest hands in the West, Mingle is able to do things with the puck that others can only dream of. His ability to move the puck in tight spaces, while fighting off a defender is incredible. It is a key ingredient of the puck soup that is Christian Mingle.

 

STRENGTH: Another area that Mingle will certainly need to work on at the next level, but is not much of an issue for the time being, is his strength. With the generally younger competition in the VHLM, Mingle doesn't have to worry about being out-muscled off the puck, and can use his stick-handling wizardry to get out of any sticky situations. When he makes the jump to the VHL, however, it will be a much different story, and he will need to work on his strength on the puck if he wishes to continue turning on that red light.

 

HOCKEY IQ: Despite being an extreme newcomer to the sport, Mingle is incredibly adept at reading the play as it happens and being where the puck is going, rather than where it is. It is this ability that allows him to score, and be an offensive dynamo, while also letting him position himself well defensively to help his team on that side of the puck.

 

CHECKING: While he knows where to be most times, Mingle rarely plays the body on other players. Something about it not being the "type of scoring" he likes to do. It's not a skill that is necessary to succeed at the next level, but if he would like to be one of the best in the league, it is an area he will need to focus on to improve his all-around game.

 

CONFIDENCE: Christian Mingle is the most confident f*cker out there, and while it will tend to rub some players the wrong way, it also rubs some the right way. Confidence will be key in continuing his scoring ways and being one of the best players in not only his draft class, but in the league.
