“It’s um…Kind of surreal, I spent so long dre176150029_StallionGorlab.png.0534f9b7525dfb91c1809528567a60aa.pngaming about this moment and now, it is here, like right in front of me.” Gregg Stallion told reporters pointing to the Vancouver Wolves jersey hung up behind him that bore his name and the number 88. “When I first came to Houston in the VHLM from Belgium I did not know what to expect, so many people thought that I wouldn’t be able to make the transition but my teammates, coaches and gms have rallied behind me and have helped me succeed.”

Stallion was key contributor on both the Houston Bulls and Las Vegas Aces of the VHLM scoring 202 points in the 140 games he played between both teams. “I try not to get caught up in my personal stats, and that is my goal coming up here to Vancouver. I need to be a team first player, this is not about me getting personal awards and praise but I want my team to win the ultimate reward, the Continental Cup. In the VHLM I had great individual success but I only played in six playoff games, those personal stats mean nothing because I was not able to succeed with my team in the playoffs.”

For Stallion, the fact that he was even still playing for Vancouver was a massive motivation for him to succeed. “When I first heard about the expansion draft I thought for sure that I was not going to be protected! I wrote the date of the expansion draft on my calendar I was so sure I was going to be exposed. But the Wolves Gm, Mr. Louth called me and said that they were going to protect me. That showed me that this team trusted me and I could not let them down, I have never been more motivated for a season that this one, I have to prove myself and show that keeping me was worth it.”

With four games already under his belt it appears that Stallion has fit in just well with the Vancouver wolves. He scored his first goal in his second game against the Helsinki Titans and has gotten two additional assists in his first four games. “I owe it all to my line mates, Su is an unreal centre and he elevates my game so much. I am excited to be on this team, I am excited to win with this team. We have an unreal young core that is only going to continue to get better!” Stallion told reporters after the teams 4-1 loss against Moscow, while it was a loss there was still a feeling of excitement in the locker room, this team knows that they are special and that success is not too far off in the distant future. “That’s my goal, bring a cup to Vancouver, they are an amazing fan base who have already supported me so much. It is the least I could do in return.”
