“Guys,” The Terrible Trivium said in a flat voice, “it’s been four games.” He holds four fingers up, looking like a young Ric Flair. “FOUR. Of course we’re not worried.”

The question had been posed to the rookie winger, one that asked about the London United’s level of concern after they have gotten off to a 1-3 start to their inaugural season. Trivium is scoring at a point per game pace so far this season and has proven to be one of the bright spots for the fledgling franchise. His two goals are tied for the team lead.

“What do you want me to say?” Trivium continued. “We are a super young team and neither of our goalies should even be in this league, all apologies to “The Big” Juan Jaundice, who frankly stole us that win against Helsinki.”

The Terrible Trivium is right about one thing: London United are a very young squad, and Trivium is the youngest of all. While the team continues to surrender piles of goals, the budding chemistry on the squad is worth noting. Trivium surprised some by skating up on the top line next to centerman Jay Jones, who is only one year older than Trivium, and the closest thing that the United have to a star player in Guy Lesieur. Lesieur leads the line with 6 points, while Jones is tied with Trivium with 4.

“We’re not putting up insane numbers,” Trivium admitted, “but for a collection of kids and misfits, to have your top line get 14 points in 4 games on an expansion team sounds like a damn good start to me.”
